CES 2009 - Samsung Press Conference (New Luxia LED TVs, Blu-ray Player and Home-Theater)

The installation of a home theater entertainment system in the comfort of your own home can revolutionize the way you experience movies, music, your favourite TV programmes and more.

There are many options to consider when purchasing the best home theater equipment – and luckily there is now greater choice than ever when it comes to custom home theater design, packages, set-up and accessories. For instance, wireless home theater systems and speakers have become more popular in recent years, as they offer greater style and compactness, and allows for a more spacious home theater room; and “home theaters in a box” are advertised as providing a simple introduction to entertainment centers. Home theater stores are also willing to combine top quality individual parts (such as custom home theater projectors, speaker systems, DVD players, receivers and screens) in whatever way you choose, and for cheaper than you might expect.

Additionally, building your own custom home theater system is increasingly simple and cost effective. Many home theater magazines and webzines offer useful information on custom home theater construction: including practical instructions such as home theater plans and layout advice, audio system plans (including surround sound), DIY wiring diagrams and advice on custom home theater electronics.

Websites can also provide you with expert-quality home theater reviews on products from high street companies such as Sony, Yamaha, Panasonic, Pioneer, Bose, Onkyo and Samsung – often complete with photo galleries – so that you stay informed whether you choose to buy online or not.

If you have a custom home theater idea you are unsure about, or simply want to discuss, you may also find it valuable that a lot of these websites contain forums in which you can exchange ideas and suggestions with others planning to build their own home theater. Whichever home theater option you chose, the web is a valuable resource that can be a great aid when deciding on the best entertainment center for you.

Buying or creating a custom home theater may be more than just a purchase – it can turn into a lifestyle! This is reflected in the vast array of home theater accessories and furniture available, from décor such as custom cabinets and speaker stands, to time- and trouble-saving items like the Home Theater Master™ – an acclaimed universal remote control.

Options in home theater room design include a variety of seating, whether you opt for a chair or a recliner, and ranging from cost-effective to the ultimate in luxury. Websites can also provide you with the best home theater room plans that can optimise your space and enjoyment of a DVD entertainment center.

Here is the correct answer. Yes there is a way to do this. You have to run a DIGITAL sound cable from your TV to your HT system. You will then be able to decode the 5.1 sound from broadcast or cable TV.

There are three forms of this digital connection: HDMI, coax, and fiber optic. You are usually limited to the format your particular device supports, hence AV receivers have several inputs of all types available for use. HDMI is the best supporting high definition 7.1 24 bit sound but most TVs don't have an HDMI output. Nor is anything broadcast in HD sound. Coax and optical hookups run a close second supporting 5.1 16 bit sound.

In short you need to run a digital coax or fiber optic cable from the audio OUTPUT on your TV to an INPUT on your HT.

DVD-9 are standard dual layer DVDs, all DVD players should be able to play them.

Samsung Home theater doesn't support audio via HDMI, so you have to connect optical cable from PS3 to system for sound.

Turn off the power and hold the button on the main unit for
longer than 5 seconds.
Using the RESET function will erase all stored settings.
Do not use this unless necessary.

This was copied from the user manual for your system. If it does not work call support.

The HT-AS720 is Samsung's attempt at a true A/V receiver based Home Theater System. This system does not have a built in DVD player and does includes speakers. Its not a bad system, but there are definitely better systems out there from traditional A/V Receiver vendors like Denon/Boston Acoustics, Onkyo, etc. at or near the same price point.

Samsung's lower end 5.1 and 2.1 Home Theater Systems (i.e. HT-Z310 & HT-A100) do not have great sound and are not worth the money (IMHO).

Hook up your AV components with the best cables for your home theater and you'll enjoy the best possible picture and sound from your home theater entertainment system. I would suggest you to check all the connections properly. You shouldn't be disconnecting cables all the time. Everything should be plugged into your receiver then use HDMI to your TV. If there is no problem with these then meet your electronic specialist.

Yes i have one and so does my brother and the sound is top quality with very deep bass I would highly recommend it.

Go jump off a cliff zippy speakers are classed as electrical items numpty, and as Samsung makes electronics I assume that also includes speakers how do think the sound comes out or do you believe there are tiny bands playing in the speakers. Get some facts before letting your fingers do the talking.

You need 1 of these for each 2- speakers you want wireless ( not subwoofer)

It tells you in your owners manual under conectivity where it explains about hooking up a wireless module(pg.55-60)?

You have a bum steer. There's some electrical issue that's causing the system to shut down. If it didn't shut down it might be catching fire, so try to see this as a good thing. Take it back.
