When you look at the iphone, it’s hard to argue with the notion that it’s really ahead of all the other smartphones when it comes to style, functionality and looks. Yes, the iphone is in a category all by itself and therefore you’ve also got to find a great looking Bluetooth headset that compliments your phone perfectly.

When it comes to buying Bluetooth accessories for the iphone, a quality headset is essential to how well you’ll be able to enjoy using your new smartphone. Fortunately, there are several top-notch wireless headsets that will fit your needs.

VXI BlueParrott B100 Wireless Headset

The VXI BlueParrott is a professional headset that is ergonomically designed for comfort. It has a noise canceling microphone, which you’ll appreciate if you’re going to be using your iphone in an office environment. It has a 75 foot range, but that seems to vary a bit depending on the area. The clarity is pretty good, but you may sound a little muffled to some callers. This headset is also compatible with standard desk phones.

Plantronics Voyager 510 Wireless Headset

The Plantronics Voyager is truly a new age headset. It can switch back and forth between your iphone, your PDA or laptop. This is really a smart headset that can detect which device you are using at the time, pretty cool, huh?

It’s comfortable and has excellent sound clarity on both ends. If you’re looking for great style, unfortunately, this headset doesn’t have it, in fact, it looks pretty basic, plus it’s a bit bulky, but if you love functionality, this is one you should really consider.

Jawbone Noise Shield Wireless Headset

If you love style, the Jawbone is your kind of headset. It has a very modern, futuristic design that will make you look cool when wearing it. It’s noise canceling system works like a charm to block out surrounding noise. It can also be worn in either ear.

That sleek design comes at a price. The control buttons are hidden on the back, something you’ll get used to once you use these for a day or so. Also, it’s a little bigger than some other headsets, but it’s also very lightweight. A major iphone problem seems to be trying to get a proper fit that’s comfortable. It’s recommended that you try all of the earbuds and hooks that come with the unit until it fits properly.

Gomadic Wireless Headset

Gomadic claims that this is the best iphone wireless headset around. Indeed, it has a nice, sleek design and digital noise reduction. The talk time is 12 hours. However, these are not specially made for the iphone, since they are compatible with other phones, as well. The scoop is that Gomadic is attaching itself to the iphone for marketing reasons. Therefore, don’t buy these because Gomadic claims they’re the best, compare these with all the other models and make up your own mind.

As you can see, there are lots of great wireless headsets that are a good fit with your new iphone. When choosing one, it’ll come down to your own personal preferences for size, style and functionality. It’s quite possible that you’ll choose more than one headset. Whichever you buy, make sure you’re getting your money’s worth – your iphone deserves it.

Battery Conservation Tips

Are you always running out of battery power just before you take that perfect picture with your digital camera? Here are some

tips to conserve your batteries when you are out “snapping away”.

1) Turn off your digital camera when not in use. If you are in a situation where you must snap pictures quickly, this may not

apply as turning digital cameras on and off take a few seconds, and may cause you to miss a picture-taking opportunity.

However, if you are taking a leisurely stroll and can afford a couple of seconds before snapping a still subject, by all

means, conserve your digital camera’s energy!

2) Many digital cameras have a regular viewfinder and an LCD viewfinder. While the digital LCD viewfinder has its benefits,

it can drain battery power. Turn it off when applicable and use your regular viewfinder for taking pictures.

3) Don’t stop after taking every photo and look at the picture in your digital camera’s playback mode. Granted, you sometimes

need to look at photos immediately after shooting them in order to make sure your exposure is correct, the lighting is ok,

etc., but doing this does use up your digital camera’s battery power.

4) If you are using MicroDrive media, be forewarned that these miniature hard drives may take up quite more power than

Compact Flash cards.

Taking care of you new battery pack

Normally, a new battery pack comes in a very low charge condition and must be fully charged before use. Refer to the user

manual of your portable electronic equipment for charging instructions. A new battery pack needs to be fully charged and

fully discharged or “cycled” as much as five times to condition them into performing at full capacity. Your equipment may

report a fully charge condition in as short as 10 to 15 minutes when the new battery pack is being charged for the first

time. This is a normal phenomenon especially for Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd) and Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) chemistries. When

this happens, remove the battery pack and let it cool

down for about fifteen minutes then repeat the charging procedure. “Conditioning” (fully discharging and then fully charging)

is necessary so as to maintain the optimum performance of a battery pack, and is recommended at least once a month

particularly for Ni-Cd and Ni-MH batteries. Failure to do so could result in reduced charge capacity and can significantly

shorten the battery packs useful life. Lithium Ion batteries do not require conditioning. It is normal for a battery pack to

get warm when charging and during use. However, if the battery pack gets excessive hot, here may be a problem with the

portable electronic equipments charging circuit and should therefore be checked by a qualified technician. Rechargeable

batteries undergo self-discharging when left unused for long periods of time. This is normal particularly in the case of Ni-

MH and Li-ion chemistries. For best results, always store a battery pack fully charged. It should be removed from the

equipment and kept in a cool, dry and clean place. The amount of runtime a battery pack produces depends on the power

requirements of components in your electronic equipment.

Don’t let under-charged batteries keep you from taking great photos.

If you infrequently use your digital camera, you may think that you after you use your digital camera, recharge your NiMH

batteries, wait a few weeks or months, then use your digital camera again, that your batteries will be charged and you’ll be

ready to snap photos, right?

Oops… Do that and you’ll be stuck with a non-functioning digital camera or one that just blinks a picture showing a dead

battery.

Rechargeable batteries don’t stay charged forever. They tend to lose a little bit of their power every day. If you charge

your batteries and frequently use your digital camera, you will probably never notice this loss of power. However, after a

couple of weeks, the power loss may be noticeable, and after a couple of months or longer of non-use, those once ready-to-go

batteries may have lost enough power to make them unusable.

Don’t get caught in this trap. Always charge your batteries before every trip, and make sure to use a battery charger with a sensor that prevents over-charge.

What kind of digital camera do you have?
I don’t really know anything about digital cameras but I want to buy one. What are the cameras called, that are not digital, just “normal” ones? I used to like those better because the quality seemed to much more professional. The lighting seemed warmer, colors seemed brighter. On digital cameras it seems that everything looks paler, etc. Is it just me? I wanted a digital camera that had those qualities to it, with a good price, if possible. What kind of digital camera do you have?

The installation of a home theater entertainment system in the comfort of your own home can revolutionize the way you experience movies, music, your favourite TV programmes and more.

There are many options to consider when purchasing the best home theater equipment – and luckily there is now greater choice than ever when it comes to custom home theater design, packages, set-up and accessories. For instance, wireless home theater systems and speakers have become more popular in recent years, as they offer greater style and compactness, and allows for a more spacious home theater room; and “home theaters in a box” are advertised as providing a simple introduction to entertainment centers. Home theater stores are also willing to combine top quality individual parts (such as custom home theater projectors, speaker systems, DVD players, receivers and screens) in whatever way you choose, and for cheaper than you might expect.

Additionally, building your own custom home theater system is increasingly simple and cost effective. Many home theater magazines and webzines offer useful information on custom home theater construction: including practical instructions such as home theater plans and layout advice, audio system plans (including surround sound), DIY wiring diagrams and advice on custom home theater electronics.

Websites can also provide you with expert-quality home theater reviews on products from high street companies such as Sony, Yamaha, Panasonic, Pioneer, Bose, Onkyo and Samsung – often complete with photo galleries – so that you stay informed whether you choose to buy online or not.

If you have a custom home theater idea you are unsure about, or simply want to discuss, you may also find it valuable that a lot of these websites contain forums in which you can exchange ideas and suggestions with others planning to build their own home theater. Whichever home theater option you chose, the web is a valuable resource that can be a great aid when deciding on the best entertainment center for you.

Buying or creating a custom home theater may be more than just a purchase – it can turn into a lifestyle! This is reflected in the vast array of home theater accessories and furniture available, from décor such as custom cabinets and speaker stands, to time- and trouble-saving items like the Home Theater Master™ – an acclaimed universal remote control.

Options in home theater room design include a variety of seating, whether you opt for a chair or a recliner, and ranging from cost-effective to the ultimate in luxury. Websites can also provide you with the best home theater room plans that can optimise your space and enjoyment of a DVD entertainment center.

Samsung showcased an extensive new lineup of LED TVs.
How many of us would like to beat the weekend traffic snarls to go to the movies? This will become a stress in itself rather than an activity to unwind from the hectic week! In the days of recession and with the prices of everything skyrocketing, these little joys of life are now more expensive. The movie tickets, the refreshing drink and the popcorn at the theater all burn a hole in the pockets. If only there was a simpler way to watch one’s favourite movies! The solution to this and the in-thing these days is to own a theater, at home of course.

There are many advantages to owning this magnificent piece of technology. One can relax in the comfort of his home and enjoy the movies of his choice. There would be no reason to worry about the long queues at the counters or having to wait for the show to begin. You can comfortable lie down in front of it and let the magic begin with friends and family. Building a Home Theater is now not very difficult. Home theater systems come with multiple speakers to create the ambiance of a movie theater which include special speakers for bass, jazz and pop kind of music. The use of these marvels need not be restricted to watching movies and can extend to even watching sports, listening to music and even other entertainment programs. You are at command and so all the conditions can be adjusted to one’s own preferences. Sports buff will vouch for the fact that watching sports on a High-Definition television with superb acoustics to accompany it and watching it on a regular television are poles apart. Watching a football match on a Home Theater would excite the lovers of the sport just as it would at the football stadium.

All the major brands have come out with many models of the system to suit the different dimensions of the hall and also to fit the budget. The Samsung Home Theater is equipped with a Wi-Fi connectivity and has options for USB, Headset, AM and FM. Upto 5 CDs can be stored in it at a time and it can process DTS , Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic II formats of audio. The Samsung Home Theater can emanate music upto 1200 Watts. Another well-known and long-standing player in the audio sector Philips also has come out with a range of Home Theater systems to choose from. The Philips Home Theaters start from a modest 140 Watts and increases up to 1000 Watts. These gadgets function as DVD Players also adding more value to money.

Wireless home theater systems are so much easier than the wired ones. It is always a mission to need to find enough plugs and hide them away because they look so foul, not to mention deadly if you have young youngsters in the house. Even if you’ve got a large cabinet that you are going to put the system on, the wires are always an issue because there are such a lot of of them that you don’t know what to do with them all. There are products on the market today that let you “hide” wires, like zipping them up into a wirecase and that kind of thing, but rather than spending money and still having the wirecase where everybody can see it, you can rather just have a wireless system. Connecting a theater system for home like this is easy.

An example of a system like those would be the Panasonic SC-PT950 Wireless Home Theater System. Not all systems will have directions like this one but most will be similar. There are various types of wireless systems ; they differ in size, style, color, price and details.

The subwoofer of the Samsung home theater systems has ports in the front. The tower looks more like a Computer tower as it does not take up much space and it looks good. There’s enough sound coming from all the speakers. Even using half of the volume power is too much, but might be about enough for you.

The great feature of this system is the wireless surround sound speakers. Many people find it hard to have speakers at the rear of the room in the right position while making an attempt to keep the room looking neat. You can put the speakers wherever they have to be without worrying about running wires from them into the home theater system that is across the room and likely not so high as the speakers are. Try to not put your wireless speakers too near to other wireless devices in your home, like a cordless phonephone.

Now you can even have wireless home theater systems in the bedroom even though you only have one plug which you routinely use all the time. You can put it anywhere you like because you don’t need electricity to run the system. Even if you one day find that you have run out of electricity, you can still hear music on your home theater system. How cool is that?!
